The Phytosanitary Strategy for Agriculture 2011–2021 was designed to reduce by 25% the risks to health and the environment from the use of pesticides in the agricultural sector in Quebec. It presents actions identified by government and industrial partners to reach targets during the period from 2011 to 2021.
It also aims to increase the adoption of integrated pest management through actions grouped in three main areas: health, environment, and agronomy and economy. This strategy is designed to meet the expectations of citizens and consumers about the safety and quality of food, as well as the protection of the environment.
