This report provides reference information on native Rhode Island bees and non-bee pollinators, as well as their basic habitat requirements for foraging and reproducing.
It is written for agricultural landowners and discusses BMPs related to habitat identification, preservation, or restoration; planting or seeding; invasive/pest species management; mowing or haying; and grazing. It touches on some general considerations regarding management practices, including advantages and disadvantages of various management tools. It is focused on bee pollinators; however, recommendations may also benefit monarch butterflies (The Heinz Center 2013).
