The Minnesota Board of Water & Soil Resources has identified a number of state and federal programs that may provide pollinator habitat as an additional benefit to funded projects. One of these, the State Conservation Cost-Share Program provides cost share for state-approved conservation practices.
Pollinator habitat can be incorporated into funded projects and should include diverse mixes of native flowers to support pollinators. Projects are not subject to minimum acreage requirements (MBWSR 2014a). Landowners receive up to 75% cost share for eligible practices. Technical assistance is provided by the local soil and water conservation district (MBWSR 2014b).
