The Prince Edward Island Environmentally Significant Class of Land Holdings (PEI ESCLH) exemption may be applied to lands meeting eligible exemption designations, such as designated wetlands under the PEI Wetland Inventory, marginal agricultural lands, or permanently grassed headlands. ESCLHs may be exempted under the aggregate land holdings limits, enabling landholders to acquire other lands as offsets and to set aside lands from agricultural production. Exemptions may be included up to 162 hectares (400 acres) per person (PEI DAF 2013).
